A good internet connection does make all the difference. I'm discovering new things about the net that I couldn't possibly have done before. Reason? Simple, a bad connection which simply doesn't allow you to stretch your exploratory interests. New phenomena that couldn't have existed before highs-peed internet connections came to be. Like torrent sites and youtube.

Speaking of you-tube, what interests me most about it is the straight-web, short-span webisodes. not something I could really explore before. Of course everyone in the know is aware that its a relatively new phenomena on the internet. 'Relatively' being the keyword.

Why am I blabbing about this right now? One word, Afterworld. I'm a little late arriving in this fandom. Late enough that it's showing on television, which is how I discovered that the episodes are available online. Clever mix of narrative storytelling and 3D imagery I gotta say. The episode's are short, so they wont take too long to load. Makes me wonder if it has anything to do with the current generations short attention span.

When I reach out for the sky,
I'm grasping at nothing.
I hold only air and nothing more.
Where the real sky begins air ends.
So when I'm reaching out for the sky
I reach out for nothing.
When the sky is the limit,
The limit is nothing.
Then there is nothing but the sky and I
Then I am real and the rest is nothing.
I cant feel the earth beneath me anymore
I fall into the sky and into nothing.
I fall into nothing into infinity.
The sky cannot be bound
I fall into the sky and
I am bound by nothing
When I reach out for the sky,
I’m grasping at nothing.

With my brand new signature finally up, I thought I'd celebrate it with a post related to the subject. Hence without further ado, dun dun dun duuuuh - The Matrix. Anyone who like me whose worked in the graphic/animation feeled would've drooled over the film the first time it came out (to be fair even if you weren't). SFX like these were considered ground-breaking in 1999. Something like this had never been seen before. It was worth watching for the visuals alone. Add the cracking plot with various bits of philosphical & religious references thrown in without being very heavy-handed and you've got the makings of a cult hit. Which it was and still is.

Taking the red pill and going and going down the rabbit hole. The Parallel to Alice in Wonderland couldn't be more obvious, even if you dropped an anvil on someone's head. Like Alice, the main character 'Neo' takes the red pill and jumps down the rabbit hole.
